Maisie

DSC_0266small.jpgMaisie’s debut with the group was in 2012 when she was just 8 years old, kicking off her first role in the pantomime ‘Old King Cole’. Maisie has been in appearing in dance shows since she was 3 years old and is now integrating her stage experience with her acting skills. She hopes to continue success with the group, waiting in anticipation for the pantomime princess role when she is older.

Bill

Bill.jpg- has been involved with SSP since about 2000. Usually only does backstage but was tempted onto stage twice – as a bishop in the Group’s 2001 production of Course Acting Strikes Back and as a German officer in 2007′s Dad’s Army (Don’t tell him Pike!)

Barbara

A newcomer to the Group  Barbara joined us for Beauty & the Beast in the chorus. She  dreams of a role like that of Penelope Keith in To the Manor born! So far her only unforgettable moment was nearly missing her cue to come on stage in the Panto. We’ve all been there!!Barb Eve.jpg

Josh

Josh Clancy.jpgHas been doing drama for 7 years and this is his first production with SSP. He’d love to play Bill Sykes in Oliver Twist and is proud of having taken centre stage in the Essex University annual Shakespeare  week

Mick

Mick has joined us after spending 5 years with the Silver End pantomime Group – welcome Mick! His favourite role to date has been Gaston in Silver End’s production of Beauty & the Beast, and he has his eye on a particular role in our next production….His unforgettable moment was when, as Widow Twanky in Aladdin he managed to send his wig on a trajectory into the audience!Mick.jpg

Carol C

Carol P

DSC_0300small.jpgAnother fresh face who joined us for the 2014 Panto. She loved playing a wolf and dreams of being a fairy godmother (in a Panto?)

Harry

– Harry has been acting for 2 and a half years and with us for 80% of that time. A stalwart of our pantomimes he also enjoyed playing Bert in All My Sons. Harry had a scene in Beauty & The Beast where he acted falling asleep so convincingly that when he ‘woke up’ he had no idea which scene he was in!Harry.jpg

Barb Willoughby

DSC_0316small.jpgBarb has been involved with drama and SSP since 2005. Her favourite role to date was Mrs Fox, Corporal Jones love interest in Dad’s Army and she also enjoyed the Char Ladies Dance Group which featured in one of ur shows to everyone’s amusement and amazement.

Heather Barton

DSC_0313small.jpgDoing drama for 23+ years mostly with SSP. Heather is our Vice Chair and Chair of Future Productions Committee. Her dream future role – Eleanor of Aquitaine in The Lion in Winter. Her unforgettable moment in a production – As Julia Price in Arnold Ridley’s Ghost Train, smashing a window and then watching her blood dripping onto the stage. Luckily, as it came at the end of the Act, she was patched up during the interval.

Kim Richardson

DSC_0327small.jpgHas loved the stage since she was a tot, taking part in dance shows from a young age. She studied performing Arts at Braintree College and has been a member of Colne Engaine Amateur Drama group and the Thurrock Players, performing in pantos and festivals. Her first role for SSP was Maggie in ‘Cheshire Cats ‘(affectionately known as the Pink Play); and she has performed as both comic and villain in the last 2 SSP pantos, as well as providing the glamour in ‘Trivial Pursuits’.

Kim was nominated as ‘rising star’ by the Halstead Gazette in 2014

Andy Barton

Well hello there reader! My name is Andy Barton. I started with the group in 1993 when my mother forced her then 11 year old son to wear tights and sing a song called ‘Eggdorado’ (think Oklahoma! Music) to a bunch of strangers for the Pantomime Humpty Dumpty. The rest as they say, is history.

Since then I have been given the most amazing opportunities with the group. From farcical comedies to edge-of-your-seat thrillers, I have been fortunate enough to be involved with a brilliant variety of performances. And it is not just plays that the group involve themselves with, over the years the group have acted in corporate training videos, produced radio plays and contributed to local variety shows for charity.

It is an amazing group full of amazing people and over the years has given me the chance not just to act but also to broaden my skills in other aspects of theatre. Set design, prop supply, costume selection and backstage management are as equal if not more important than the people you see on stage. Being a part of Stane Street has given me the opportunity to experience these roles. Furthermore I even had a chance to direct, having recently directed the 2014 Pantomime, Little Red Riding Hood.

On a closing note I feel blessed for everything the group has taught me. Later this year I begin a Masters’ degree in Acting at East 15 Acting School and I can honestly say that it would never have been possible without the experiences and lessons that the group have taught me.

So come along to one of our meetings, have a chat and a cuppa and see what Street Street Players are all about. I promise you will not be disappointed!

Hello

My name is Jamie McWilliams  I would like to take a minute of your time to tell you all about my first year with the Stane Street Players. After seeing some of their productions and fully enjoying the pantomime with my family and watching the cast on stage enjoying themselves I thought that’ll do for me!  In 2013 I finally got up the courage to ring and ask about joining the group – so glad I did because all the members are a great bunch, not just to work with but socially as well. My first play was Trivial Pursuits, where I played a bit of a TV nerd. Then I played a ladies man in a school reunion murder mystery and in the same year I played a coke sniffing musician in Robin Hood and his Merry Menace. 2014 I was in my first pantomime as a cowardly guard. Thanks to the Stane Street Players  2013/2014 will be a memorable year.

If you have a desire to tread the boards a phone call to SSP is as good a start as any. Looking forward to working with you!

Steven Johnson

I have been acting for 8 years now and Pantos are so much fun. This year I had the pleasure of being Dame in Little Red Riding Hood with SSP. Performing in such a great venue as the Empire was a real treat and I  enjoyed the experience. Acting has been a big part of my life and looking forward to performing in other plays with the Stane Street Players.

Vicki Shreeve

My first Panto was in 1997, so that’s 16 pantos I’ve appeared in & I’ve loved every one!

I’ve played chorus right through to principal boy but my favourite ever role was playing “evil” Pariah this year in Old King Cole.

By day I’m Deputy Manager in a Children’s Nursery so my theatrical side often comes in handy!

During my time with SSP I’ve acted, been backstage, in charge of props, front of house, bar staff so maybe a spot of directing will need to be on the cards next ……….. just to complete the circle!
